A 32-YEAR-OLD woman from Malaga was killed during a hold-up in the Colombian city of Baranquilla on Wednesday.

The mother-of-five was visiting the city with her husband, who is from Barranquilla, and her children, to attend the popular carnival, according to the Spanish Embassy in Colombia.

The Spanish Consulate in Cartagena is processing the request for her remains to be returned to Spain.

The couple was attacked in a local bar by a group of armed men and she was shot in the chest. She was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

One of the men was caught and there is a reward of €1,800 for information leading to the arrests of the others.
