Elderly care home residents in San Pedro Pinatar can now enjoy games on a brand new petanque court
MORE than 300,000 Moroccan tourists are expected to visit the Costa del Sol this year, surpassing the number of visitors from the North African country in 2010. The managing director of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board, Ana Gomez, took part in a promotional tour to Casablanca, Rabat and Tangiers which is in its fifth edition and takes businesspeople from travel agents and hotels to Morocco to promote their businesses.
More than 300 professional attended the promotional talk for the Costa del Sol, including press and Moroccan businesspeople.
Gomez commented that Morocco is a growing market, which is why it is important to create commercial ties between the two countries.
Most Moroccan tourists spend at least one month in their chosen holiday destination, and their preferred locations are Barcelona, Malaga, Egypt and Libya.
Those who travel tend to have high spending power and in the past few years, they have chosen Spain because of the economy and the easy travel possibilities.
Most Moroccan tourists travel as a family and are interested in inland tourism, health and beauty, golf and theme parks.
